Parent Teacher Committee

WHO WE ARE

The King's School Parent Teacher Committee (PTC) is a volunteer-based group of parents and teachers here at The King's School that organises school events and activities to build a wholesome school community and support school fundraising.

WHAT WE DO

The PTC organise a series of events and activities every term. These activities can be solely for community building while some may also include fundraising. Volunteer activities can be centred around events or other school activities such as prayer, invigilating exams, school trips, classroom helpers and sports days.

Here are some events we organise for children and adults:

Autumn Term:

  • Fireworks Evening

  • Secondary School Carol Service refreshments

Spring Term:

  • International Food & Quiz Evening

Summer Term:

  • Primary School Sports Day refreshments

  • Fun Day

To successfully run our PTC, the organisational structure includes a committee, class representatives and volunteers. The Committee meets once a term and communication happens with the rest of the team online. A summary of roles is below:

  • Secretary - Sets up Zoom meetings, records meeting minutes, manages online group communication (email and WhatsApp).

  • Finance Lead - In charge of recording PTC event finances, sorting purchases and expenses.

  • Marketing Lead - Writing brief PTC news update for the school's termly newsletter, creating artwork for PTC events and activities.

  • Event Coordinator - Manages the PTC online event webpage.

  • Second-Hand Uniform Lead - Liaises with the school Receptionist, opens and organises the uniform shop once a week and at the end of summer holidays.

  • Prayer Lead - Leads prayer team activities.

Class Representatives (One or two parents for each class)

  • Class Reps send PTC artwork and relevant information to class WhatsApp groups.

Volunteers (As many as can!)

  • To successfully run any event, we need an army of volunteers from parents, teachers, relatives and friends. Some volunteer opportunities are limited to parents such as invigilating exams, in-class activities and school trips.
