WHEN SHOULD I APPLY FOR RECEPTION?

Applications may be made for our Foundation Class (Reception) at any time, but processing will begin in the Spring Term preceding the academic year your child turns 5 years old.

 

WHEN SHOULD I APPLY FOR YEAR 7?

You are encouraged to apply as early as possible. The applications will be processed in the order in which they are received. Taster days begin from October when the applicants are in

Year 6.

 

WHAT DENOMINATION IS THE KING'S SCHOOL?

The King's School accepts applications from members of the Christian community from across Christian denominations.

 

CAN I APPLY FOR ADMISSIONS AT ANY TIME DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR?

Yes. We are happy to receive applications for mid-term admissions and will seek to process them as quickly as possible, following the usual admissions procedures.

 

DOES MY CHILD HAVE TO TAKE AN ENTRANCE EXAM?

No. The admissions process includes a day or two for your child to spend at The King’s School in their current year group. During that time they may be given some benchmarking papers in order to assess their academic levels.

 

DOES THE SCHOOL OFFER BURSARIES FOR NEW APPLICANTS?

Although the school offers financial assistance in the form of bursaries to parents of existing pupils whose circumstances require temporary support, it is not our practice to offer bursaries for new admissions. Exceptions may be made for ministers and missionaries.

 

DOES THE SCHOOL PROVIDE WRAP-AROUND CARE?

We currently do not provide breakfast or after school clubs.

ARE WE ABLE TO APPLY UNDER THE BNO VISA SYSTEM OR THE CHILD STUDENT ROUTE?

Yes. Families entering the UK under the BNO visa scheme can apply for a place. We also have a limited number of places available under the Child Student Route (formerly Tier4). Please contact the school for more details.
