Music

Arts Festivals

Our annual Secondary and Primary Arts Festivals always feature musical items performed by our budding musicians. The Festivals offer a chance for them to show off their skills and learn to perform to a friendly and supportive audiance.

Prom Praise for Schools

On Tuesday 19 March a party of 35 of us travelled by public transport to the Royal Albert Hall in London. When we arrived we were excited at the privilege of having theatre boxes to sit and sing in! During the afternoon rehearsal we were enthralled by the All Souls Orchestra playing to accompany our singing as well as a variety of music which illustrated the story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt. The evening concert was outstanding. The experience of singing in the Royal Albert Hall and hearing top quality musicians, as well as the joy of the well told Bible story with dancing and acting encapsulating the meaning, was unforgettable. We are very grateful to our wonderful helpers who accompanied us and all who made it possible.

Music within the school

In addition to the timetabled curriculum music lessons, the Music Department offers individual lessons on the clarinet, drums, guitar, piano, recorder, saxophone and violin, as well as singing lessons.

Throughout the school, pupils have the opportunity to join the Primary or Secondary choir or orchestral groups which practise once a week during lunch times.

We also have our annual Primary & Secondary Instrumental Concert where pupils who have been having individual lessons get to show students, friends and family what they have been learning.
