The
King's School, Harpenden - Testimonials
Our son has had a very happy and productive life in The King’s Schools. This is owing to the dedication and quality of the teaching staff, plus: good standards of discipline and classes which are neither too big nor too small in number.
We have particularly appreciated the Christian discipline of the pupils, which is not confined to an RE lesson but is a constant value throughout the school day. The family atmosphere of the school also makes it a special place for both the children and their parents.
It has been a privilege for our son to have been part of The King’s school and we will be forever grateful for all the school has done during his formative years.
(Mrs P.W.)
My 2 daughters have been encouraged in their faith and spiritual development as well as in their studies at The King’s School. I can honestly say that the genuine love and caring, shown by so many of the staff, have helped them come through some very difficult family circumstances which we faced. Both girls have grown into young women with the courage to enter life with a determined faith and positivism, and the School has undoubtedly played a significant role in helping them develop as unique individuals with their own gifts and strengths. The King’s School has helped equip them for life, not just getting through the curriculum!
(Mr D.H.)
When I first met Mr Case, the Principal, he said that the school aims to get the absolute best out of every child. The progress my child has made has surpassed all expectations, this truly is a very special school.
(Mrs J.T.)
From the first day to the last, pupils and parents always feel that friendly and warm ambience of the school, whether they are attending an open day, concert, or parents evening.
(Mrs D.E.)
The King’s School is a School I do not hesitate recommending to my family and friends. Aside from the academic growth, the spiritual responsibility and behaviour of the children is superb. My son loves coming to school and always has – which alone is a bonus.
(Mrs.J.K.)
My sons joined The King’s School in January of this year. They have both settled in better than we expected and we are very pleased with the school indeed. The boys love going and it is clear that their academic, spiritual and social needs are met in full!
(Dr.M C.)
I think that the facilities for the reception are very good and the reception teacher does a good job as their teacher.
( Reception class parent)
We feel the year 2 teacher is a very encouraging teacher and are pleased with the progress our child has made in her class.
(Year 2 Parents)
I am very happy with The King’s School and I would strongly recommend it to other parents. I have complete peace of mind that my child is well cared for and is receiving a good all rounded education.
I couldn’t imagine my daughter being at any other school and the long sometimes tiring journey is well worth it.
I strongly believe my daughter has benefited enormously through attending The King’s School. She has been provided with such a supportive environment that she has been able to flourish spiritually, emotionally and academically. I am deeply grateful for the personal care and encouragement she has received from the Christian staff and would not hesitate in recommending The King’s School to any parents or career.
(Mrs D.D.)
All three of our children have / are being educated at The King’s School, the eldest who is now 18, progresses to do A’ levels at our local state school, and made a smooth transition from a small school environment to a large school. She was well prepared academically, socially and spiritually. She has since gone onto complete her first year at Cambridge University with a maturity and confidence, character and good values built up over the years at school. Our second child has also now gone on to the 6th form and again is well prepared.
The schools strengths show in that each pupil is encouraged to achieve to the best of their ability within an all important environment of Christian values, community and worship. (Mr & Mrs C.)
Our children have made excellent friends in The King’s School who share godly values that we know will place them all in good stead in life.
They look forward to school days and activities, and seem proud to speak to their school to their non King’s School friends.
We drop off our children each school day confident in the knowledge that they are being helped in their shaping and outlook on life by a wonderful institution and staff, who place Christ firmly at the centre of the students education.
(Mr & Mrs H.)
We have been really delighted with the school for both of our children. They have both benefitted from small class groups and from the Christian input. Our son and daughter wouldn’t be where they are today both spiritually and academically without the input of The King’s School.
They have benefitted greatly from extracurricular opportunities, which have made them push forward as individuals rather than being ‘lost in the crowd’ as they may have been in a state school environment. I would highly recommend The King’s school to anybody.
(Mrs C.E.)
My child started at the pre-school and has been encouraged to do her best, be her best and grow at her own pace! I absolutely love her being there and she loves getting ready for school and meeting her classmates. The King’s school provides a safe environment, spiritual growth and superb teaching and guidance. As a parent I feel I can walk into school any given day and my requests will be fulfilled. I can’t think of a better place that gives me the security and confidence that my child is attended to both spiritually and academically.
(Mrs J.K.)
We are so grateful for this school it is wonderful and truly builds the whole child - spirit, soul and body.
Our 2nd son was born very prematurely; he was in intensive care/special care for months. Quite difficult for his eldest brother but his class and teacher prayed for him and us till his baby brother miraculously grew better.
The school also very kindly supported their young student through an embarrassing unpleasant physical problem till it was resolved. My only criticism is they don’t advertise enough.
(Mrs H.A.)
Whenever we speak to anyone about the
school we cannot praise it highly enough - we have
Sam and Abbie, both very different but the school
has been absolutely the best place ever for both of
them. Thank you all for everything!

I consider it
one of the best decisions we ever made to send the
boys to The Kings School.
I had to email
you and the school to say how much we all enjoyed
the performance on Saturday. After Fiddler on the
Roof I thought it might be good, but never expected
such a brilliant evening.
We were engrossed from the first scene and can honestly
say we would not have been better entertained if we
had gone into London. The amount of work that had
gone into the production showed only too well. The
staff who were directly involved did a magnificent
job and cannot be praised enough.
I was so proud to see my sons on the stage, but with
all their friends as well was quite emotional.
It brought to mind how short a time they have left
at the school, and I can only say that they have grown
so much over the past years.
I consider it one of the best decisions we ever made
to send the boys to 'The Kings School'. They will
have memories that will endure for a life time, and
the Christian ethos and lessons in life they have
learnt are priceless.
Thank you for all the work that you and the other
members of staff have done with the boys. It is greatly
appreciated. The boys have a healthy respect for the
teachers, and the teachers genuinely care about the
children in their care.
Saturday Night was so uplifting.
Warm regards
Nigel
AN EXTRAORDINARY SCHOOL
The teaching and pastoral care given
to my daughter at this school have helped enormously.
She has benefited greatly from the smaller classes
and genuine concern for her which permeates from the
Headmaster Clive Case all the way down through all
the staff.
She is happier and her confidence along
with her approach to academic life has soared. If
you want your child to succeed as a whole person emotionally,
spiritually and academically then I would wholeheartedly
commend The Kings School.

Teachers at The King's School do
so much more than teaching!
Our son seemed to have difficulty concentrating
whilst studying and was falling behind in class.
His teacher noticed a slight idiosyncrasy
in the way he looked at things - something that we,
his parents, hadn't even noticed. She was concerned
that he might have a sight problem and recommended
that we take him to an optometrist to be on the safe
side.
The optometrist confirmed that he had
condition which caused difficulty in focusing and
therefore concentrating. He prescribed glasses and
remedial treatment.
Our son quickly caught up with the rest of his class
and is now fine with his studies. This was also a
huge relief to us.
We know that without this extra care and special consideration
our son could so easily have been wrongly diagnosed
with long term implications to his education.
This is just one example of the kind of care that
you can expect from teachers at the Kings School.
