The
King's School, Harpenden - Latest News
The Kings
School, an independent day school in Harpenden, has
recently achieved 95% of their GCSE pupils attaining
a minimum of 5 grades A*-C, a fantastic achievement
in itself.
The Kings School,
Harpenden, believe in investment - in their students,
facilities and resources. An investment, they believe,
pays dividends. Not only do they have results that
any school would be proud of, but they have taken
the schools resources, IT in particular, to
a new level.
Principal Clive Case said: 36%
of all grades earned were A* and A grades, a statistic
were particularly proud of. He is dedicated
to excellence and whilst delighted with the GCSE results,
95% of The Kings School pupils earned the minimum
of 5 A* to C grades, he is equally thrilled for students
who achieved personal-bests and exceeded
their predicted results.
He went on to say,
We
are in essence an academically orientated school
with a strong Christian ethos. We continually strive
for improvement in all areas and are very proud
of what we have achieved.
He wholeheartedly believes that the
school should support parents in raising their children
to become an asset to themselves, their families and
society - both academically and socially.
Investment in the schools resources
include 11 brand new computers in the senior computer
suite; ongoing investment in the primary media centre,
which is currently being upgraded; three new interactive
whiteboards Smart Boards, have been installed
in the primary school; and a wireless hub to allow
internet access which will also improve functionality
for the staff.
Other expenditure includes additional work done in
the grounds to enhance safety features and electrical
improvements in the classrooms.
As the school is dedicated to keeping
fees affordable, and classes small, additional funds
have been raised by initiatives organised, and supported
by, parents, pupils and friends of the school.
