Welcome Back! Autumn 2012

Welcome to all new families, and welcome back to everyone else!

I trust that you have all enjoyed a wonderful summer break, and are well rested and looking forward to the new term and the new academic year.
A special welcome to a number of new members of staff. Mrs Swain joins the Primary staff as Senior Teacher and will assist the Head of Primary, Mr Casley, with the management and administration of the Primary School. Mr Golding joins the Secondary School to teach Music and Mrs Glunk Peeters takes over the teaching of German in the Secondary School. Mrs Disu is our new Primary Teaching Assistant and Mrs Ball is our new Receptionist. I trust that they will all enjoy working at King's and encourage parents to introduce yourselves to them when the opportunity arises.

Two important events will take place very soon , so please be reminded of the New Parents Evening for pupils new to the Secondary School, taking place on Friday evening at 7pm in the Hall. Tea and coffee will be served and there will be an opportunity to meet staff and receive important information.

We are holding a celebration of the 30th anniversery of the school on Saturday 15th September -details available on the website. Please note that we have to pass on numbers to the caterers this Saturday , so please make your bookings with Karen at the school before Friday afternoon. The event is not for pupils, but babies and toddlers of past pupils are welcome.

I am sure that most of you have been inspired by the Olympics and Paralympics. This Monday, a group of pupils and teachers had the opportunity to attend the morning session of athletics in the stadium and then visit a number of other venues in the Olympic park and a great time was had by all. What a fantastic job the organisers, volunteers and athletes have done. We thank them and salute them!

Please tell friends and family who may be interested, about OPEN DAY which will take place on Saturday morning 6th October, and please remember that all pupils need to attend as this is registered as a school day. Friday 5th October is a day off in lieu of Open Day.
