The King’s School, Harpenden, School News

All through the Summer Term we can enjoy seeing the talents of our pupils.

SPORT:  We have several althletics competitions, as well as the Primary and Secondary Schools Sports Days. Competition against the three Houses - Bunyan, Campbell and Wigglesworth - is intense and fun!

ARTS:  We enjoy the talents of music, song, drama, prose and art at the Secondary and Primary Arts Festivals, culminating with many items being included in the evening Secondary Arts Festival Concert and the afternoon Primary Arts Festival Concert for family and friends to also enjoy. The work of our GCSE Art students is viewed around the school for all to admire, along with the Year 11s GCSE Art Exhibition.

EXAMSPupils have worked hard for their exams this term, including KS2 SATs, KS1 SATs, and end of year exams for Years 7, 8 and 10. All these exams help to prepare the pupils for their GCSEs, and we are proud of our Year 11 pupils who finished their final GCSE on Monday 17 June. They have now left us and we will miss them - but they can enjoy a well earned rest before they move on to A levels or courses in other educational estabilshments.

Unfortunately the wet weather has hindered a few of our Primary trips, but our pupils have remained positive and enthusiastic with altered arrangements, many of them expressing the values of The King's School Way of integrity, commitment and thankfulness.

Our Eco-Councils have worked hard to encourage and educate, using the World Environment Day on Wednesday 5 June to emphasise the harm that single-use plastic has on our world.

We value our pupils and their families and pray for a restful and fun filled summer.
