Farewell and God Bless Year 11s of 2012

Last Friday was an emotional day at The King's School as the Year 11 class of 2012 attended their final assembly, before going on study leave as they write GCSE examinations. As usual it was a bitter-sweet day as we enjoyed the excitement of their reaching this milestone, while feeling the sadness of their leaving. One of the pupils had been with us from preschool right through to Year 11 and others had been with us for most of their school careers.

After assembly the Year 11 pupils enjoyed lunch at the traditional garden party, organised by Mrs Monson, before going home to prepare for the Leaver's Dinner in the evening.

Looking very grown up, and quite splendid in their suits and evening dresses, the pupils joined staff and trustees in the school hall for a dinner hosted by the Year 10 class and their form tutor, Mr Cornell. Entertainment was provided by King's Jazz and by a Year 10 band. Catering was overseen by Granny Goode and Mrs Hughes, with assistance from parents, and the evening was enjoyed by all.

Thank you and well done to all involved in the organisation of the celebrations, and Farewell and Blessings to the Year 11 pupils. We pray for a successful time of preparation and examinations in the weeks ahead.
